Reviews
(1-25 of 216)Dependable and easy to use.
- Friendly user interface.
- Fast computing.
- Generous bandwidth.
- Give more RAM for the price.
- Increase hard drive space.
- Price could be less.
Simple, fair and fantastic support.
- Simple and fast interface.
- Fair and simple pricing.
- Continuously developers their offering adding more capabilities.
- Fantastic support.
- Missing functionality compared to peers, for example DigitalOcean.
- Historically used to lower prices regularly to stay competitive, not so much anymore.
- Not very differentiated from similar cloud providers.
Linode is your friend!
- Linode servers are easy to configure. It comes with a stable OS on which you can install exactly the services you need to install.
- It is cheaper than other cloud VMs like AWS and Azure.
- Performance of the VMs is good. You could host small apps on the smallest linode which costs $5 per month.
- The blob storage should have pay for how much you use.
- There should be a email service like there Simple Email Service in AWS
- There should be option to scale down to save on costs in off seasons.
It is not good for user who are not experienced in using the Linix CLI. Since there is not much UI to do such tasks. It does not have a UI for CI/CD
- Reliability had always been solid with very few incidents of unplanned downtime.
- Performance has always been solid.
- Support tickets can sometimes sit unanswered for a long time (+24 hours) which is concerning when you've had a sever taken down for sending spam and have since resolved the issue.
- Didn't seem hugely open to suggestions (in my case allowing tags to be deleted / renamed).

Excellent Platform for Testing and Proof of Concept Work
- Configuring new VMs
- Simple billing model
- Managing VM security
- More backup options would be useful for production environments.
- An even larger range of Marketplace applications would be good.
- Excellent support, fast, detailed and service oriented.
- Great flexibility in the platform for Linux based solutions, of whatever kind.
- Ping times are fast, great global presence.
- Regular platform updates and services, have allowed us to experiment with the latest tech.
- Their online terminal shell to access the host via a web interface can act up (based on locale settings). We often use ssh direct instead.
- Resource monitoring options are bare bones. Good for what it does, but need to use external, or self hosted solutions for detailed metrics as the infrastructure grows.
- A trade off for the flexibility on offer, means less "easy" platform based security locks. Example, our clients sometimes ask about port blocks. Here, customized blocks are your responsibility which some cloud users take time adjusting too. It's not really a con though, many actually prefer it, including us.
Linode--good solid cloud hosting at a decent price.
- Customer support is always fast and knowledgeable.
- Pricing is competitive.
- The web UI is easy to navigate.
- Sometimes I'd like to be able to specify more configured options for a virtual server.
- Bandwidth out--should be less of concern these days.
Great quality cloud hosting for unbeatable prices
- Fast.
- Cheap.
- Expandable.
- A little bit more support for website downtime.
- More options/variations for the cheaper plans would be great (double my CPU currently means 4x more expensive).
- Administration panel is easy to use.
- VPS is pretty fast, enough for our needs.
- When a problem arises, they notify us and solve it in minutes.
- Recently I was surprised to find more regions in Europe to place my VPS
- Billing. I wish to have invoices in Euros.
- Due to Brexit, we abandoned our London data center. I would like to have some other in Spain or France to balance our assets.
- I would like to know more about how secure Linode's data centers are. We know literally nothing about these infrastructures.
- They added more regions in Europe. But billing remains in USD only
We also use Object Storage. It fits all our needs for a small project.
Unmatched Quality at an Unmatched Price
- Reliability
- Customer Support
- Cutting Edge Technology
- Email is a hard problem to solve well. A secure, plug-and-play solution from Linode would have made this aspect the web side of our business a snap.
Linode vs. Others - Our journey so far
- Dedicated CPU.
- Developer friendly services.
- Affordable cost.
- Detailed monitoring and analytics.
- Availability in India.
- More regions in India.
- Waiting for Bare Metals.
- Email services would be great.
Reliable provider with great customer service
- Reliable
- Quick, friendly customer service
- Good value for money
- S3-compatible storage across all data centers
- NFS block storage over multiple nodes
- More automated backup options
- Ability to assign our own IPs to load balancers
- Global networking option
Linode in small business
- Uptime - in the 4 years I have been with Linode I have not noticed any unscheduled outages, and the scheduled ones I do remember, finished before they were scheduled to, and did not have any major impact on services
- DNS - Linodes' management portal for DNS control is simple, easy to use and understand
- Tech Support responsiveness - they have always been very good at responding to support tickets, and I have found their support staff to be very very helpful.
- Datacenter Locations - they have their Data center locations in useful places around the world.
- I would like to see a weekly or monthly Backup provided as part of the monthly fee.
- Being able to scale drive space requirements a little better
- I can't really think of a third one, honestly - they give you a Virtual Machine and allow you to do what you need to do on it, and at a reasonable price.
- Cheap and reliable virtual servers
- Very easy and simple interface
- Transparent pricing
- Easy to use and install things
- Managed DBs
- Adapting the interface to mobile devices
- Ability to access servers from the interface--it is a bit unclear how it works
- More fine-grained control over Managed DB, e.g. logging
- Getting invoice in email instead of having to access the web interface every time
Linode is my only choice when it comes to IaaS
They are, naturally, of different sizes, depending on the need of each service or customer. However, independently of the node size, they are all very powerful and generous in the number of resources.
- Excellent support
- Proactive maintenance
- Fair price
- Reliable
- Easy to install hosting panel (e.g HestiaCP) would be an exceptional improvement.
If you don't have such knowledge and cannot hire someone to help you with that, it might be better to find out another managed option. Linode also offers a managed account at a bit more expensive price.
- Uptime for hosted servers
- Ease of DNS hosting
- Ease of load balancing implementation
- Painless deployment process
- We don't take advantage of their Kubernetes program. No real need.
Linode, affordable, scalable and great support.
- Good value for money.
- Great support if needed.
- Good range of products.
- A cheaper backup solution.
- The smallest VPS with two cores instead of one.
- An even cheaper VPS (but the current offering is already very good).

Why my startup chose Linode
- Price.
- Easy of use.
- Security.
- Reliability.
- More product offerings.
- Improved Windows support.
- More geo-located options.
- Self service VMs
- DNS management
- Scale up and down
- In my experience, in the past 3 months, the downtime in the London data centre has been regular and sustained with repeated +1 hour whole datacentre outages.
- I feel the downtime disclosure is not very forthcoming. They need to provide better forensic detail of outages which have been way too regular in London Lately.
- In my experience, a server disk fault resulted in the loss of a whole VM and all its data! They were unable to recover, so we needed to resort to our disaster recovery backups.
Linode is great! What more needs to be said?
- Pricing
- Reliability
- Hardware/Technical Support
- S3-compatible storage expensive
- Bandwidth Alliance membership was dropped silently
As a Long-time Linode User, I'm a very happy customer
- Their virtual private servers are fast and easy to deploy and manage.
- DNS integration is a really welcome bonus.
- Object storage is easy to implement and deploy.
- Better API access to object storage public URLs.
My 8+ Year Experience with Linode
- Reliability.
- Customer Service.
- Price.
- Less features than AWS.
Believe Marco Arment: Linode really is that good
- Reliable services.
- Excellent web interfaces.
- Competitive pricing.
- Excellent documentation.
- No cons! Maybe it could be even cheaper or easier to use…
