We use the Cisco Business Edition 7000 series in our organization to get connected to our team mates and they are most reliable. They are easy to use and provide great functionality when it comes to call our employees. The product has got great features and functionality. Communicating over a normal mobile handset is quite hectic as some organization do not allow phones in working hour and also the network are quite unstable some time hence it become difficult to call the employees when there is some need and urgency. This is where cisco phones comes in picture and solve our day to day problem. They are very reliable and make our work easy.
  • Cisco Business Edition 7000 have got best voice quality and they are very reliable.
  • The phone is embedded with security and encryption features and interception of call is very tough and difficult. So they are very secure.
  • The phones are portable and easy to carry which make it a best choice.
  • The User interface of phone could be better and it can be more interactive. The options are complex.
  • The configuration part is tough as we need to select them manually through buttons which make it a difficult task.
  • If the bandwidth of network is low we may face some noise disturbance and jitter in voice.
  • There should be proper documentation available for configuration part so that anyone with good knowledge can do it.
Cisco business edition are well suited for the environment where we need regular communication as they are easy to dial and has got great features. The product is well suited for both small business and large enterprises. Speed dial, good voice quality are key features of Cisco phones.
They are not well suited in scenarios where we do not have LAN connectivity or internet. Sometimes we may face latency and jitteriness which is not good.

This series is primarily used for phone/telecommunications purposes by our department and by many other offices at my organization. It runs smoothly but is reliant on a good internet connection. There are times when the internet goes out for any number of reasons, which affects phone usage. Or if there is a power outage, the phone has often disconnected or become non-functional.
  • Voicemail message are retained for a lengthy period of time.
  • It efficiently allows for users to phone colleagues in other departments by the extension number.
  • Headset usage comes in handy.
  • Speaker phone capability works well.
  • Too reliant on internet to run smoothly.
  • The volume for the ringer on the phone does not go down all the way.
  • Some of the buttons alongside the screen aren't clear as to what they are/do
A nice big screen for the phone allows for a decent interface with the user. Many buttons exist that cause confusion. In some cases, less is more.

Cisco Business Edition 7000 is being used throughout the organization and is deployed at headquarters. All branches and headquarters are interconnected with a site-to-site VPN through MPLS links, prioritizing voice and video traffic. With these links, it allowed the company to upgrade the telephone system with the acquisition of the BE7000. Telephone calls between the company's locations are no longer cost-effective, generating huge savings. The solution provides other technologies in addition to telephony, such as videoconferencing, messaging, voicemail, call recording ,and management systems.
  • The platform supports up to 5,000 users connected at the same time in voice and video calls.
  • Everything is virtually deployed on Cisco servers with reliability.
  • Intuitive configuration and user-friendly web interface.
  • It has several types of IP phones and is compatible with legacy and multi-brand hardware with SIP protocol.
  • Solution is expensive with all server software and hardware warranties.
The platform is perfectly suited for collaboration involving everything related to integrated voice and video systems. It is easily installed on physical servers and virtualized and can be accessed remotely. The BE 7000 modernized the infrastructure with voice-over IP and generates complete reports on the telephone and video usage of users in all the company's regions for internal control and auditing. The solution can be recommended for medium and large scenarios from 1000 users up to a limit of 5000 users.

For one of the retail banking [sectors], we are deploying [the Cisco] business edition appliance. It comes under 2 [variants] namely 7000M and 7000H. We have gone ahead with 7000H considering it is built for [video-intensive] purpose. Our deployment model ckmsiso of video equipment [devices, servers, IP phones, and routers] all of [the Cisco] make to give [customers] a rich experience.
  • Easy to manage platform
  • Cost effective
  • Enhanced user experience
  • Licensing seems to be on costly side[.]
It supports around 8 to 10 collaboration applications. It's [cost-effective] considering [one-time] deployment.Helps in increasing productivity. Easy to deploy and manage platform.

Fully packed with calling, messaging, contact center, management, and meeting application, Cisco Business Edition 7000 is an all-in-one solution to meet all your on-premise collaboration needs.
  • All in one hardware platform to meet all needs for calling, meetings, messaging, contact center, and management.
  • Great performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • The provisioning of the system can get complicated.
  • Upgrade times can be better.
Cisco Business Edition 7000 is a great solution for small businesses and when stacked it can scale for big companies. When scalability comes into question, you can simply add more servers to add more applications that serve more users. The hearth of the solution, Cisco Unified Communications Manager is a proven reliable solution, but it needs some modern revamp on its core services to be less sluggish.

[Cisco Business Edition 7000] is being used by the whole organization as well as by our customers. This addresses the scalability to deploy a UC cluster. As this is a VM environment, this makes admin easy to manage.
  • Scalable
  • Easy to maintain and manage
  • [Cisco Business Edition 7000 could use a] session border controller feature
[Cisco Business Edition 7000 is] well suited for collaborations.

I've set up collaboration nodes for a few of our customers. Used this to support small-sized and medium-sized deployments. Small being under 1000 users and medium being a 3000 user set up. Application servers came pre-installed/pre-deployed, so that saved a lot of our time which usually would've been spent in downloading iso files copying them to datastores and setting up the nodes.
  • The fact that the nodes come pre-installed.
  • Easy to set up.
  • Saves a lot of installation, pre-installation time.
  • Integrated email notifications on hardware failure.
  • Expensive
Its well suited for small to medium scale deployments if the infra is in-house. Webex and other SaaS solutions are in demand these days and are cost-effective too, but if for some reason your deployments need a locally-managed data center, then go for the BE7K or the BE6K depending upon your requirement.

It's being used across the whole organization, except the customer's branches. At the time of implementation, there were no problems on the servers. I have installed publisher, subscribers, expressway C and E, and unity connection, although the servers have space to create more virtual machines. As of today, I have more than a thousand registered users.
  • Capacity
  • Powerful
  • Flexible
  • Licensing
  • VMware knowledge
  • Some bugs over CIMC
It is an appropriate product for companies with 1000 users and up to 3000 devices. It is a product that facilitates the implementation task since the VMWare ESXi is already installed along with its license and several virtual machines have already been created within it to facilitate implementation times on the client.

We are using Cisco Business Edition 7000 in our company as the basic communication Unified Call manager to support Communication between Cisco IP phones and Softphones. The capability and performance of Cisco Business Edition 7000 give us the ability to settle the communication between all our branches and departments, and yes, all business units are using this product through their IP phones.
  • Calling
  • Presence
  • Messaging
  • Not very easy to use
  • Needs a dedicated administrator
The powerful tools on Cisco Business Edition 7000 give us the ability to set up all IP phones and connect our lines to [them] and give the right permission to users to use whatever we need. [At] the same time, it gives us the needed reports and statistics on usage and performance.

Cisco BE7K was used by our organisation as a mid-size branch communication platform. With all the necessary UC apps included in one solution BE7K brought all the UC services that Cisco offers within one box, which really removed the complexity for us as end users.
  • All in one platform that includes all the Cisco UC services in one appliance.
  • All the services are ready to use and preconfigured.
  • Tools available improve productivity and user experience.
  • More cloud based services need to be added to the default service package.
  • Companies frequently require a small contact center within the UC environment. It would be nice to see a build it contact center in the box.
  • It would be nice to see some advanced AI based services (IVR voice recognition service) in the BE7K application list.
  • Call recording should be also built in.
BE7K is well suited for small/medium enterprise environments. It has all the necessary UC toll that is required for any modern knowledge worker. I don't see any other cases where it is not suited. The platform is amazing and suits any use cases whenever the Unified Communication is required.

Cisco BE 7K at a glance

The entire company is using the BE 7K as a phone system and we have no plans of leaving.
  • Solid uptime.
  • Virtual environment.
  • ROI on purchase after several years.
  • Expensive to bring up.
  • Not open sip.
Cisco's 7000S is a solid option for businesses. Mainly it offers better-than-average opportunities for integration, and a superior list of cutting-edge features including voice, video and instant messaging all managed from a single dashboard. Their reputation for customer support is also of note. The company, however, does not advertise prices and does not offer an uptime service guarantee.
