Deploying Cisco Meraki SD-WAN in our organization with the goal of deployment in several spokes and subsidiaries that currently have a mix of IT architecture and network infrastructure. These spokes do not have their own IT or network teams. The goal is to provide a managed IT service with cost sharing and the core team based in Munich will be able to manage, support and offer further scalability based on current project company growth.
  • Excellent for agile deployments following M&As
  • Ease of usability and onboarding for junior admin team members
  • Excellent for providing centralized managed IT services to spokes with no IT resources
  • Integration with ThousandEyes dashboard
Ease of scalability and suited for agile deployment in M&As

We switched from an ISR powered legacy MPLS WAN solution to a Cisco Meraki SD-WAN solution. Most of what is needed is there. I have run into unique issues regarding client reporting and I am learning more about integrations. (ThousandEyes)
  • Simplicity
  • All devices and networks in one log in
  • Price competitive
  • Client reporting, AnyConnect user reporting
Small to medium customers, it is fantastic.

We use Cisco Meraki SD-WAN firewalls to help us to be connected and reliable when some of our links go down.
  • SD-WAN
  • Load balance
  • Filtering
  • Mapping from vlans and security group could be more detailed
  • Group policy applied in vlans could be showed in the customers
It is well in stores and all type of retails, is less appropriate to big companies or medium that need some information from navigating.

We can easily configure two or more uplinks. It also provide us the ability to load balance traffic between multiple uplinks. Monitor traffic, see stats, create automatic VPN tunnels are also some of the great features that it has. It is really easy to implement and it is great that you can configure it on the cloud.
  • Load balance traffic between multiple uplinks.
  • Monitor and report traffic statistics.
  • Customize traffic preferences.
  • Real time visualization of changes.
Suitable for branches or remote locations where is difficult to have an IT person on site because you can remotely manage the devices, they require little local assistance to be set up.
Not great for big sites as they lack some very detailed configurations or do not handle very well large amount of traffic.

We use the Cisco Meraki SD-WAN across our business at over 200 networks. We use it for the Easy Site-to-Site VPN and ease of use.
  • Mass Cloud Configuration
  • Site to Site VPN with other Meraki MXs
  • I would like to see security reports that show all flows even if they were Allowed
  • Better reporting in Security Center
For businesses that have lots of remote branches on the smaller size and not too complex on the rules.

We use Cisco Meraki SD-WAN in our remote offices for connecting to our HQ or Cloud. The easy to deploy and manage part of the Cisco Meraki SD-WAN makes it very helpful for our field support team. Also the cloud management makes it real simple and everything on a single pane of glass.
  • Easy to deploy
  • Auto VPN and SD-WAN
  • Visibility
  • Security with AMP & Threat detection
  • More cloud native Connectivity to providers like AWS, Azure & GCP instead of a VM based v-MX
  • Redundancy in the cloud for V-MX
Support of Advanced security license in the public Cloud. It supports only enterprise licenses today.

Global company with manufacturing and distribution sites across the world. Cisco Meraki SD-WAN connects our branches together using a hub and spoke configuration with hubs located in the US and Europe.
  • Dashboard
  • Intuitive
  • Easy to manage and configure
  • More functionality to mx security appliances such as DMZ
  • Needs to support EIGRP and BGP fully
We run a very lean team. There are 3 members of the network team that support the WAN/LAN/Firewall/Wireless/Switching for 200+ sites across the world. Cisco Meraki SD-WAN makes this very easy to manage. It is not well suited for our Data Centers as it lacks the security functionality required.

We use MX105 firewalls as SD-WAN edge devices and we connected them to the SecureConnect cloud security solution.
  • SecureConnect integration
  • Easy operations
  • Basic firewalling capabilities
  • Firewalling capability is basic
  • No backup
  • Not possible to configure with console
For small and medium organizations that like lightweight network solutions and easy maintenance and operations, Cisco Meraki SD-WAN is the best.

We use the Cisco Meraki SD-WAN as corporate, for general IPSEC, etc. Lately we had a case study that we had to implement ThousandEyes on a customer MX series, and it wasn't so simple, we had to get some help from a Cisco engineer, and finally we succeeded. I recommend simplifying it if possible; thanks.

We use Cisco Meraki SD-WAN Solution in our Enterprise network to connect them to our Data centre and Cloud . The Cisco Meraki SD-WAN products are easy to manage and configure. The Cisco Meraki SD-WAN solution can be easily managed from the a cloud based Meraki Dashboard.
  • Auto VPN to remote sites
  • Cloud based single Management plane to manage all the Merkai Products
  • Traffic shaping based on Application traffic
  • More API exposure , only some of the API's are available
Cisco Meraki SD-WAN can be used to connect your office/branch networks to private cloud and public cloud. From Configuration prespective it is very easy to configure and bring the tunnels up to HUB. You can schedule meraki SD-WAN solution upgrade in meraki dashboard that save's lot of manual efforts to perform upgrades

all our sites have internet circuits only, so the use case for Meraki SD-WAN is just about distributing traffic between primary and backup circuit. There are some sites where weekly backups are staurating primary link, so we are forcing this traffic over the secondary link. Some sites are using SD-WAN plus license too.
  • easy to implement
  • decent analytics and telemetry
  • Security embedded into the solution
  • AutoVPN sites to site firewall rules needs to be improved
  • there is no logging or any insights which would be able to tell you what are the hit counts or actual usage for site to site firewall rules
  • SD-WAN plus license includes Smart breakout which has only few applications and those do not work properly, so it is quite useless
  • VPN exclusions (local internet breakout) for TCP/UDP type of traffic can not be specified with port ranges
  • VPN exclusions (local internet breakout) can be defined only for destinations, but not the sources. It is policy based routing which should support also Source definition
small, medium enterprises, which can benefit from auto-magical AutoVPN, easy to setup and maintain. It is basically DMVPN Phase1 without the need to configure anything.
For internet traffic, loadbalancing and traffic preferences can do most of the job that you would need.

Cisco Meraki SD-WAN has been pivotal in quickly linking all of our remote sites together, we no longer have to order expensive MPLS or wait months on end for the install to happen. For us it's easily manageable and gives us a simple to use interface for the important metrics. Licensing and hardware is fairly inexpensive for the functionality we're getting.
  • Simplicity
  • Ease of rollout
  • Minimal upskilling needed for staff
  • Relay WoL packets for remote device management
It's simple to rollout and configure.

We are a partner managing the Meraki products of the customer which is used for the Enterprise level. We are extensively looking to migrate all the physical firewalls through the network with Meraki MX.
  • Hub and Spoke. Where the hub is the main office and spoke are the small offices or stores
  • The secure connect
  • Cisco Meraki SD-WAN has major performance issue in having many L3 firewalls deployed.
  • Policy Objects/Groups limitation should be increased
  • Mark I should provide more visibility for the user to troubleshoot
Hub and spoke environment where we can decommission the old leased line with Cisco Meraki SD-WAN.

My customers want a managed service with incredible insights (the latter are given by the Meraki Dashboard). Cisco Meraki SD-WAN gives my customers a secure connection true the internet and cloud applications they use as well as secure connections true all there locations.
  • Give insights in ALL what is happening on the network
  • Trouble shoot in case of a problem
  • Once in the Meraki family, you can expand with for example Cisco Spaces / Thousandeyes / Umbrella, and all that within one dashboard
  • API possibilities are huge
  • What you see is what you get. For example, there are limitations on what you can change in the Wi-Fi parameters.
  • Start the subscription when deployed and not already when sold.
If your company is mainly working with cloud applications, you want an outstanding insight of your network, and ease in deployment, then Cisco Meraki SD-WAN is the best to have. If you are on a really small budget, Cisco Meraki SD-WAN might not be the best solution (maybe go to tplink or so). But when you do, you are missing out on a lot.

Connecting to our small branch offices. We have only few places where we have established connections with Meraki products.
  • Relatively easy to deploy
  • Sometimes I’d like to see more detailed information about reasons why connection failed. Especially when using mobile connections.
It’s a quick way to establish connections in a rapidly changing environment.
