Easy-to-use drag-and-drop editor: Many users find Proto.io to have an easy-to-use drag-and-drop editor, allowing for quick and efficient prototyping. They appreciate the simplicity of the design interface and find it functional in creating interesting microinteractions in prototypes.
Flexibility for web-based and mobile prototyping: The web-based and mobile options of Proto.io provide flexibility for users to work on their prototypes from anywhere. Users like the ability to create quick mobile app mockups using the mobile element in Proto.io, as well as being able to review mockups on a mobile phone. Some reviewers also mention the clear tutorial provided by Proto.io.
Realistic and interactive interfaces: Users appreciate the realistic and interactive interfaces that can be created using Proto.io. They enjoy turning wireframes into interactive prototypes that closely resemble actual applications. Reviewers highlight the ability to input data, interact with objects, and navigate through screens during demos as valuable features of Proto.io.
Difficult User Interface: Some users have found the user interface of Proto.io difficult to navigate and get used to, leading to a challenging learning curve and making tasks more difficult than necessary.
Limited Integration with Other Design Applications: Several reviewers have complained about Proto.io not allowing seamless integration with other design applications like Sketch, which has discouraged users from using other tools they were already familiar with.
Non-adjustable Dimensions of Prototypes: Many users have mentioned that the dimensions of prototypes created in Proto.io are not adjustable. This means that an app designed for one platform may not work properly on another platform without redevelopment, causing inconvenience and extra effort for designers.
Users commonly recommend using Proto.io as a first-time prototyper to effectively communicate ideas. It is considered a great starter software for prototyping, particularly for interaction designers and prototypers. Many users suggest trying Proto.io with the free trial to evaluate if it meets their specific needs. Additionally, Proto.io is recommended for rapid prototyping and wireframe creation, as well as for creating native apps that work offline. Users also appreciate the ability to assign different levels of access to multiple users in Proto.io. The software is mentioned as being easy to use for both low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototyping. Some users suggest adding support for other gestures and simplifying the process of changing orientation in Proto.io. Furthermore, users recommend the inclusion of social buttons in the component palette, as well as the creation of a centralized theme manager for easier color and font modification. While some users think Proto.io should improve its brand image and design, overall, it is considered a robust toolset worth learning. Users also recommend reviewing the documentation and training materials provided by Proto.io for building complex interactions within the software. Finally, some users compare Proto.io to inVision in terms of ease of use and simplicity.

Reviews
(1-5 of 5)- Easy to use
- Great interface
- Integrated icons and easy management of images
- The performance sometimes gets a little slow
- Some prototyping workflows are complicated
- The buttons and actions can be difficult to learn
- Proto.io has a positive impact because we used the free version.
- Proto.io has a positive effect because we use it to make prototypes that save us time.
- Proto.io has a positive impact because it is a collaborative tool.
- workflow process steps
- simple interactions
- complex transition animations
- robust interactions
- Allows for fast demonstration of workflows to stakeholders.
- Is not an expensive tool, so minimal risk in experimenting with it.
- For just presenting workflows to stakeholders, InVision worked almost as well (not as robust in interactions, but when you want to focus on the steps, that's better anyway).
- For micro-interactions and transition animations - tools like AdobeXD and FramerX, and even Figma and some plugins for Sketch are better.
Proto.io makes wireframe design fun, simple, and enjoyable!
- Proto.io is very interactive and fluid. It allows you to design an entire app, including interface between screens.
- It has a very robust library of relevant mobile components.
- The support and help materials for Proto.io make it easy to use this product on your own.
- There is a bit of a learning curve and is suited for someone with a development background.
- Sharing across the organization, if not done properly, isn't the easiest.
- Proto.io is being used by the entire development group on a fairly regular basis and eliminates the need for paper design.
- Proto.io's interactive interface and design has helped us to identify UI issues before the actual development stage.
- Proto.io does not really offer organization charts or workflows and is specific for wireframes and mock ups.
Can't find a better prototyping software
- Proto.io has more features than pretty much every other prototyping software I looked at. Many other vendors excel in one area, but Proto.io does it all it seems. There are so many different ways to build live and interactive prototypes.
- You can easily build and manage multiple projects. Proto has several templates to start with in terms of screen sizes, from computer monitors down to the different iPhone screens, as well as Android devices.
- It's really easy to share prototypes with other members in the company, and they don't even have to be users in Proto. The previewing option is great as well, but Proto makes it even more simple by allowing you to just copy and paste a link to share with others.
- To this point, I really have no complaints with Proto.io. The software itself is feature-rich, so the learning curve is probably steeper than it would be with some other products. That being said it's totally worth it because Proto.io can do everything I need it to do.
- Proto.io has helped us to become more strategic about how we design our software, both in terms of styling and functionality. Being able to create prototypes opens a lot of doors for us to show the dev team how we want the software to behave.

- Easy to go from page to page
- All around good user experience
- Would be nice if developers could take the code directly from the program
- Sometime it was hard to click and drag different assets
- Mine crashed one time and I lost a days worth of work
- It helped us rebrand a company to have a better strategy for the target audience
- It helped a small company new to UX and UI understand it a little more
- It was easy to teach new people minimizing on boarding time
