My company switched from Sage 100 to Sage Intacct a little over a year ago and what a difference that has made! I primarily use Intacct to reconcile our bank statements and love how using the bank feed and match/create rules have automated the reconciliation process and saved hours each month
  • Allows for transaction mass imports (great for recurring transactions)
  • Automated bank feeds allow for automatic imports of all bank transactions
  • Match and Create rules look for certain (user defined) patterns in bank transactions and clears the transactions in the bank reconciliation
  • The Match rules (which are great) could use more parameters so we can expand the number of matches
I love how using the bank feed and match/create rules have automated the reconciliation process

We needed an accounting system that could handle the complicated rev rec associated with a SaaS and service based business. The current system was resulting in a lot of manual files that would need to be reconciled. Sage Intacct allowed us to bring a lot of that into one system, figuring out much of the revenue recognition for us through it's contract modules.
  • Handles Revenue Recognition through it's contract modules very well.
  • SaaS intelligence dashboarding is a great snap shot view of ARR and other SaaS metrics.
  • Chart of accounts structure is very simple to use.
  • Prepaids module is still a little clunky and feels like it's been made and hasn't been given much love recently.
  • Better standard reporting on items such as unrecognized quantity based delivery. It's easy to lose track of what hasn't been recognized yet.
  • Would love to see better ways to handle price increases on contracts. Rather than going in on a contract by contract basis, would love to be able to mass update.
Think it is well suited for SaaS companies looking for an accounting system. It might not be as well suited for people not following FASB rules, such as GASB clients, or non-profits.

We use Sage Intacct as our main finance and accounting system, for AP, AR, staff reimbursements, financial tracking and reporting. We are a non-profit with much of our funding coming from government grants so we much be able to track our spending very carefully - as such we have GLs, item codes set up within each GL, as well as Cost Centres, project codes, and funding resources as our dimensions to track all revenues and expenditures.
  • Lots of dimensions that we use to track each expense
  • Great customizable reports
  • Simple interface
  • Sage Intacct itself is rather barebones. The purchasing flow from PO to invoice to payment is not intuitive
  • Needs to have more robust approvals system, for example delegating approval for when you are on vacation
  • Native EFT payment for AP in Canada
  • Prettier interface
  • More robust tax coding (as a non-profit we receive a government rebate on GST/HST and would love to have automated coding across all modules of Sage Intacct that allow us to code things by tax code and the system automatically calculates and splits out the taxes)
Overall it is a good accounting system, it is fast, doesn't have much downtime or too many glitches. We are using it in a slightly novel way as a Canadian non-profit organization as we are not in the business of selling products or having inventory so it is not fully suited for us but we are making it work well for our purpose after a long period of set up and tweaking things.

We use Sage Intacct as our primary accounting system. We track budgets, spending, account balances, and donations received within the system. We have Sage Intacct synced with a number of other systems that allow for easy vision into all valuable information. Connected systems include Salesforce, Invoice Connect, and SIP Budgeting. Sage Intacct allows us to track different spending categories and gives our clients insight into their department fund balances.
  • Reporting with detail and ability to customize
  • Dashboards
  • Bank Recon Module
  • Task manager (assignments / checklists)
  • More user friendly UI
  • ability to customize exports
  • Matching/Create rules in the bank recon module could be more robust. For example, the ability to create or match multiple entries to one bank transaction and vice-versa.
A small business would be better suited with something like Quickbooks for the price. A larger company might find limitations in usability and cross-departmental accessability. Companies with really complicated bank reconciliations would not find the bank recon module usable in its current state. There aren't enough matching/create rule customizations available.

Use Sage Intacct for accounting and reporting purposes. Previously on an outdated ERP with limited capabilites. Sage Intacct allowed us to expand out reporting requirement as fit and provided the structure needed to speed up our close process.
  • Dimensions
  • Report writing
  • Budget uploads
  • In my experience, customized reports are tough to create
  • I think planning software is limited
  • In my opinion, audit trail was not easily accessible
Easy to create and post journal entries with dimensions needed to carve out lines of service. Standard reports lacked the ability to easily customize.

We onboard our client by hosting their books in Sage Intacct which helps to maintain their audit friendly books and manager revenue in billions. We use Cash management, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Order Entry, Global consolidations, and rest of the regular modules. We also integrate external apps to get the entries directly into the books.
  • Global Consolidation with Sage Intacct or required Fx rates
  • Integration of Nexonia Expense reports using T&E module
  • Audit trail support for each transaction
  • Control points and approval process for each entry at the department level
  • Detailed audit trial is required for ex: If 5 people made changes, then we need details of all of them in the history and all of their version with an option to restore
  • Ready option to integrate credit card apps like Rho or Brex
  • Report creation settings are too complicated, need it in simple steps that helps any user to create the report
This platform is perfect for bigger businesses as we can control the entries at department / tower level. We can do multi entity and multi country consolidations. Fx rates are auto populated which is good and we can attach the supporting documents in the journal entry. Vendor creation and the restriction option is good.

It is our system of record for all finance items. It's been a huge win for efficiency on posting files as it relates to payables. From importing and posting, we've cut our time down from two to three days, to less than a day. The posting of A/R and receiving payments has been super easy.
  • AP file imports
  • AP payment posting
  • AR Importing
  • Flexibility with the complexity of our industry
  • Being able to undo mistakes/entry changes
  • Reports are a bit clunky to get setup
It's a huge time saver with file AP files and posting those payments, as well was AR payments.

Where it seems to struggle is the reporting functionality. That takes a while to learn, as well as build. Prior entry corrections are also difficult to manage.

We use Sage Intacct for all of our accounting & finance functions. Our organization has multiple entities, and Sage Intacct was one of the best systems for our nonprofit needs. The flexibility of their dimensions and features is why we keep using the software and are happy with the team. Sage Intacct also has several marketplace partners that help with integrations or outsourcing.
  • Multi Entity Management
  • Approval Workflows
  • Accounts Payable
  • Multi Dimension Tracking
  • Customer Service
  • Marketplace Partners
  • Ability to pay bills with multiple bank accounts (similar to Yardi)
  • Most of the features to leverage Sage Intacct cost more and could add up quickly if you're not careful
As someone in the nonprofit space, I've used Intacct for budgeting, financial reporting, allocating expenses, customizing approval sets, and creating data validations and workflows. Sage Intacct has many 3rd party vendors to give you even more flexibility to fit many business needs. It's a robust system I would recommend to organizations who want to build and scale and are comfortable with a system that will grow with them. For any organization looking to implement Sage Intacct, it would be best to scope your needs and how Intacct can satisfy them within the system or 3rd party partners to get a true cost-benefit analysis of implementation.

We use Sage for all of our accounting and report usage. From processing grants to paying bills in the AP module, Sage does it all for us. We needed something that would allow us to do all the basics of accounting and then run a plethora of reports to see the data.
  • When we run a general ledger report, Sage has some nice in-depth filters to make our data more concise.
  • The AP module is very in-depth; we can add credit and debit memos and advances to vendors.
  • Sage is very useful when connecting to other software. We use Concur, and we can easily download all of our data from Concur straight into Sage.
  • The Credit card module has some room for improvement. It lacks the connector for the type of credit card our company uses.
  • I wish the account reconciliation allowed more than one person to work in the recon, as it only allows one person at a time.
  • We noticed that comments disappear from an invoice once it changes state. We wish that all comments would stay so we could have an audit trail of the conversation.
For the most part, everything on the AP side is straightforward to use. Applying for payments and entering invoices is super easy. You can customize your dimensions to fit your company's needs, which is also easy. The credit card reconciliation and how it feeds into Sage could use some work, but we also love using Sage.

Sage Intacct’s report writer is beneficial for double-checking our ending NAV and total PCAP for our PE clients. We also integrate it with Qlick to generate financial reports. We also use Sage Intacct to book partner journal entries, a sub-ledger where we can track how profits and losses are being split.
  • Duplicate journal entries.
  • Customizable reports.
  • Integration with other software.
  • Partner journal entries cannot be automatically generated.
  • Does not seem optimized for funds as investors (for PE clients).
  • Error messages on importing journal entries can be confusing.
Sage is well suited for inter-company journal entries and reconciliations. However, it is not well optimized for PE clients where one fund is invested in another. Attaching additional support to multiple entries requires you to enter each journal entry manually. However, it is good to create customizable reports.

I work at a church and we use Sage Intacct for all of our revenue and payables. I specifically work on the revenue side of things, so I mainly use the "other receipts" tab and the general journal tab for end of month entries.
  • Very user friendly
  • Organization is high quality
  • Customer service
  • Accepts feedback
  • Continually adding new features
  • Honestly, I have not had any problems with this software and have not needed additional features.
Sage Intacct is well suited for our daily online revenue. I work with software like bluepay and Pushpay, and I am able to put Sage Intacct to good use when entering the data and tracking it. I also create journal entries at the end of each month to show the accrual of previous month amounts. I have not experienced a less appropriate scenario.

We use Sage Intacct for our invoicing and recurring billing. We can track AR and use the many reporting features available to us. We can email invoices to customers for auto payments and track communication sent. Intacct has multiple report capabilities and can filter out per product family, which is important for our company. We sell three different products and like to filter out revenue relative to each product.
  • Recurring Billing.
  • The ability to name invoices with specific details.
  • The ability to run reports on product families.
  • The ability to track revenue schedules.
  • Easily void payments.
  • Easily create credit memos.
  • Updating customer information.
  • Recurring Billing Customers - the ability to avoid invoices being paid if a customer is set up as a recurring billing customer. Only recurring invoices should be paid.
  • Duplicating an invoice that has an incorrect address, but you have updated the customer's address details.
Sage Intacct is easy to learn and very user-friendly. It's easy to create filters and manage views for a particular user.

We use Sage Intacct for the internal purpose of our organization and for our external client as well. In Sage Intacct we are maintaining all the bookkeeping activities and our billing related activities of our client. We even help our client where we maintain bookkeeping of our client too. In Sage Intacct we manage all the things related to Purchase to Procurement activities it also helps us to track the activities of inventory related to IT, Admin and other departments too. In Sage Intacct we also manage the employees attendance for day to day.
  • Bookkeeping
  • Purchase to Procurement
  • Billing activity from generating invoice to payment.
  • Professional Dashboard
  • Attendance of the employees
  • Project Intelligence Management
Based on my experience Sage Intacct is well suited in Small and mdium enterprise where it handles robust financial management and bookeeping. It also handles where the entity required multi currency management. Sage Intacct also suits, where company need to do billing related activity starting from invoice generation to payment where it tracks all the things very smoothly. If the Comapny is large and with complex requirement there I believe Sage Intacct not suits.

I am an FC for a SME in Civil Engineering, we have been using Sage Intacct for around 18 months.

We had have rapid growth over a short period of time and needed an accounts system to keep up with our growth.

We decided on Sage Intacct as it gave us all the requirement we needed. Implementation ran smoothly and we were able to report on the different aspects of our business easily.
  • Cost Centre reporting
  • cash management
  • Management accounts
  • Amendment of transactions
  • Adding new bank accounts easily
  • Payments runs
Cost centre reporting is easily created within Sage Intacct and extremely useful with the suite of reports.

Also writing new reports is intuitive and there is a good help network to call on as necessary.

The cash management system is easy to use, however help in adding a new bank account is lacking and more assistance would be helpful

We selected Sage Intacct as our central hub application for various financial processes. Sage Intacct is our source of truth for our general ledger and primary financial reporting tool. We moved to Sage Intacct to provide a web-based financial platform to support hybrid work schedules. Sage Intacct provides strong internal controls and reports to support our external audit as well.
  • Dimensional accounting provides flexible reporting
  • Web-based application is stable and supports remote work
  • Ability to integrate with best in class partners in various areas to include: budgeting, credit card expense management, church management system and AP Automation.
  • 1099 reporting requires an external vendor
  • Support process is from a pool not a dedicated support person/team.
  • Cost of additional modules (example budgeting) so high that we sought a 3rd. party solution that integrates with Sage Intacct.
We are a two-entity environment (church with a separate foundation). We have about 15 operating departments with an overall operating budget of $10M. The solution fits our needs, but Sage Intacct would be expensive for smaller churches (organizations) to consider. It is a robust package that requires strong financial management skills to work with Sage Intacct.

We are a multi-entity and multi-currency organization. We are a UK company with subsidiaries in the US and Spain. We make and receive payments in USD, Euro and GBP. We use Sage Intacct as our ERP for all entities. We do our monthly and annual accounting and use it to create financial statements.
  • Multi-entity, we are able to track everything across our organization.
  • Multi-currency, we are able to track our transactions in the currency they are made in.
  • Integrations with Sage Intacct are a slow and tedious process. We set up an integration with subscription control software, and Sage Intacct's attitude and delivery were well below expectations.
  • The cost of the software is high compared with more modern competitors on the market.
  • Our account manager messages us once a year to set up a call to tell us they are increasing the price for no reason and doesn't seem to care when we ask for an explanation behind the rise in cost.
The integration process with other software is something from the 90s. We had an integration manager who didn't seem to have any answer for us and instead had to refer everything to a technical team who would take days to get back to us. On top of that, we were being charged per hour for this person to tell us they didn't have any answers. In the end, the integration was only possible due to the help of the other software team, who were proactive and wanted to find solutions and were not charging us per hour for the integration. In my opinion, this is a shockingly low level of customer service and a complete lack of value being brought to the conversation.

Our accounting department uses Sage Intacct for a wide variety of ERM functions including general ledger, accounts payable, and bank reconciliation. Intacct also provides us with tools that help address internal controls and allows lighter users a read-only view of our accounting system, which is useful for executive users and auditors alike. Intacct's reporting function is quite robust and allows us to create financials that match our unique needs in the highly regulated insurance industry. Additionally, budgeting and budget reports are pretty intuitive using Intacct's ability to incorporate multiple dimensions. Sage Intacct has provided us with a much more efficient ERM package than our previous solution.
  • Flexibility - Sage Intacct provides us with a wide variety of user-friendly ERM functions.
  • Reporting - Sage Intacct uses several dimensions that, combined with a robust reporting tool, make reports usable . That's a rarity in ERM.
  • Security - Sage Intacct has a security function that is easily customized and allows flexibility for company size when it comes to controls, authorizations, etc.
  • Imaging - Sage Intacct makes it easy to tie transactions to invoices, emails, and any other document you want. This would normally be handled by a separate tool, but Intacct makes attaching images seamless.
  • Vendors - Adding vendors is easy. However, separation of controls is a little sticky in this area. We'd like to be able to restrict our users' ability to add/edit vendors and create payments to them. Vendor approvals would help us mitigate this problem.
  • Corrections - making errors in an ERM system is inevitable. Most of the time Sage Intacct allows us to reverse mistakes, but not everywhere.
  • Interface - most of the UI is smooth and easy to understand. There are a few locations that looks different, which creates a bit of a choppy experience.
I believe Sage Intacct would be able to handle general ledger and other functions for small and large companies alike. I have actually used the product at three employers during my career and the product is very flexible in what it allows a company to do. Companies may run into challenges if they process a large volume of checks as Intacct is not ideal for that kind of volume. The system also does not easily allow for creating flat files that are helpful in creating bank files (such as ACH payments), but it can be done! Sage Intacct does a nice job of reaching out to its customers and trying to improve their product. Their previous solution for fixing routine problems was employment of a community website where users can go to ask for or offer solutions. I found this approach to customer service was not a particularly easy way of finding answers, but since my last time using the product, Sage has added a contact for direct support. These two options together make the customer service approach far more palatable.

We use Sage Intacct for many different functions in our organization. I use it for AP and bank reconciliations most often. It has created significant efficiency in our bank reconciliation process - taking our reconciliation/month end process from 5-7 business days to complete down to 1-2 business days. For AP, it has created efficiencies with uploading, approving and paying bills. We have been able to eliminate our use of paper, only needing to use it if companies send paper bills or they only accept paper check payments.
  • staying up to date with technology
  • very user friendly
  • creates business efficiencies
  • great customer service
  • improvements on submitting AP bills for approval
Sage Intacct is very user friendly and always being updated to help our business become more efficient. We do not currently use it for our accounts receivables due to the style of business we do.

We are a General Contractor that used Sage 100 for 10 years before making to switch to Intacct
  • Integrates with Procore
  • Extensive reporting capabilities
  • Automated monthly activities
  • Sage 100 had a Project Summary Screen. A one stop shop for all project related information. We can build something similar in a Dashboard but it isn't as good as Sage 100.
  • In Sage 100 issuing joint checks was a breeze. It is a very frustrating and time consuming process in Intacct.
  • We have only been live for a couple of months but these are the two most frustrating issues at the moment.
Overall SAGE Intacct is a vast improvement over SAGE 100. However, there are some simple features in 100 that we took for granted that are not in Intacct which is frustrating.

We use Sage Intacct seamlessly for our bookkeeping. It's great to use as we have multiple entities with which to work. The quarterly enhancements are always lovely as they listen to feedback and try to implement them for all users. Sage Intacct is a beautiful product with a great future ahead.
  • Multiple Entities.
  • Bookkeeping
  • Reporting
  • Support
  • Online/Live Support.
  • Centralized Access.
Multiple Entity Companies. We use two entities for accounting purposes and enjoy the platform. We are likely to use more in the future, and that's why we chose Sage Intacct from the beginning. The platform is easy to use and has excellent options.

We currently use Sage Intacct mostly in our Accounting and Finance Department. We have created dashboards so that Program Heads can see their data on an as-needed basis and they can have real-time access to it. It also allows them to review their grants. Prior to installing Sage Intacct, we used QuickBooks. This presented problems in terms of being able to look at the company from different perspectives. Now, with Sage Intacct, we can see financial information in various dimensions and obtain information that previously required exporting data and manipulating spreadsheets.
  • It provides grant reports across different periods rather than just the fiscal year.
  • The report writing function allows us to create reports that are only limited by our imagination.
  • It has a multitude of functions that we haven't yet explored but will undoubtedly allow us to consolidate various accounting functions in one place.
  • I wonder if a "wizard" capability can be built-in. Getting the most out of the software is time-consuming - which is fine, but I think I would adapt more functions if it were slightly easier to construct reports.
  • I wonder if you could build in excel sheet functions within Sage.
The dimension reporting is out of this world! The sky is the limit now as to how many grants we can bring in because of Sage Intacct.
I would like to see a more robust scenario/projection feature. I use projections a lot in keeping track of grants. It would be nice to be able to do that within Sage.
